Dave’s interest in live audio started at the age of 15 when his garage band acquired their Kustom 795 tuck and roll PA. He soon found out that he was more talented mixing the band than he was playing in it. This newfound interest landed him some gigs with local acts and in local Northern California clubs in 1980.
His national touring experience started once he began working for Marty Garcia’s Crystal Taylor Sound in the mid 1980s. This brought him some great experiences touring with bands like Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Miles Davis, and The Gregg Allman Band. In 1988 Dave started his freelance career with acts like Me’lisa Morgan, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, and a four year run with Was Not Was. In 1991 he began a 12-year stint as tour manager and FOH engineer for jazz great Bob James. This turn to jazz has led Dave to a long career working with many jazz greats including Lee Ritenour, Earl Klugh, Harvey Mason, Natalie Cole, George Benson, David Sanborn and more…
Dave continues to tour the world, mixing as well as heading up the audio dept for an annual Jazz Cruise and managing the production for two jazz festivals for “Earl Klugh Presents a Weekend of Jazz”. In 2005 Dave begin PMD Productions, Inc to oversee all of his current projects.
