The guys at VUE Audiotechnik asked us if we would test the phase coherence of the VUE  h15-W against a Meyer CQ. I will gladly oblige because there is nothing subjective about this test.

By James Elizondo

As with most of the reviews I do for SPL or L2PWorship, I have a small amount of personal trouble on the front end as in before the process ever begins.

Reviewing speakers, mics, software, etc. The outcome is always subjective. It makes me nervous to think that people will go out and buy something just because I said that it was cool. What if they don’t like it as much as I did or what if they test it in a different way and come up with opposite results?

I can’t stand the pressure!!!!!!

Now that I’m done with my rant, I will say that this “review” was different. The reason is that it was more of a test than a review.

The guys at VUE Audiotechnik asked us if we would test the phase coherence of the VUE  h15-W against a Meyer CQ. I will gladly oblige because there is nothing subjective about this test.

In the following video, you will see the phase traces of not only the VUE and Meyer boxes but of a few others as well. We here at H.A.S. productions are not good at doing tests or comparisons on a small scale. If we are going to do a test we might as well test every powered box that we can get our hands on.

So, please proceed to enjoy our scientific findings and then quibble amongst yourselves at how I should have done the test differently. And of course we subjectively listened to all of the speakers (and if the Rev. twists my arm hard enough I might divulge who we thought the winner was:)
